Calathea Zebrina

This strikingly beautiful Calathea, aptly named the Zebrina or Zebra Plant, because of its Zebra like striped leaves. Boasting large light green oval leaves with dark green stripes, they look almost as if they’ve been hand painted! This stunning plant comes from floors of the jungles of Brazil so thrives in warm, humid, wet and shady conditions. Keep it's soil damp, never soggy. It will require more water in Summer and less in Winter. An indoor plant fertiliser can also be used every two weeks in the warmer months. It is a sensitive plant and so care must be taken to not over water or under water and room temperature rain water or filtered water is best. Mist it's leaves from time to time and give them a wipe with damp cloth every now and again. Given the correct conditions and care your Zebrina should grow around 80cm - 1m in height and be a eye catching addition in any home. Zebrina is also safe for pets.
