Pot size - 20cm.
Grey Star, of the Calathea family, is a tropical clumping plant that enjoys warm humid climates. Like all Calathea, Grey Star is known for it's fabulous foliage. Long stems adorned with large, variegated, oval shaped leaves of green and silver backed by tones of maroon. Keep your Grey Star in a medium light position and well out of direct sunlight. It's roots are quite sensitive, opting to water with filtered room temperature water is beneficial for Grey Star. Use a well draining potting mix and keep moist but never soggy. Too much water will kill the roots. Wait for the top layer of soil to dry before watering and let all water drain out of the bottom of the pot. Much less water will be required during the cooler months than the warmer ones. Feed with a weak liquid fertiliser during the summer growing period and leave to rest during dormant winter period. Mist the leaves often and clean them with a damp cloth to keep your Grey Star breathing well, healthy and looking beautiful. It will grow to around 1 metre tall and is a pet friendly plant.
